I am playing with botanical material and color to explore the ephemeral and transitory nature of life.
The plants are printed directly on the paper, leaving a kind of fossilized imprint which then I draw into, coaxing out color and form, bringing our attention to these delicate plant structures. I really enjoy the “wabi-sabi” aspect of this process and finding beauty in the impermanence of things.
As an artist, I begin with an impulse, attempt to articulate, experiment, let-go, and hopefully, discover something new, each time.
